Zenith Leisure are proud to be able to work alongside the academies and schools of the North East, delivering unique and bespoke packages of outdoor education. Using the passion and skills of our instructors, we truly take learning outside of the classroom very seriously.
At Zenith we have experience using a variety of outdoor adventurous activities as a vehicle to learning outside of the classroom:
GCSE Physical Education
We have experience in delivering various activities as a part of GCSE PE, and can deliver, observe or assess the majority of activities - please contact us for further details.
BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport
Zenith Leisure have developed a specific annual Outdoor Education program to work with the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport. This program has been tried and tested and runs very well in various secondary settings. This qualification gives a wide range of young people the ability to challenge themselves in a constructive and very rewarding way.
The 15-Credit BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sport offers a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of employment within the approporiate vocational sector. The BTEC Level 2 Certificate is a qualification which can extend a learner's programme of study and provide a vocational emphasis. The BTEC Level 2 Certificate can be built into any Outdoor Education package that involves gaining proficiency in two outdoor activities. The BTEC Level 2 Certificate is broadly equivalent to one GCSE. The BTEC Level 2 Certificate is also suitable for more mature learners, who wish to follow a vocational programme of study as part of their continued professional development or who want to move to a different area of employment.
Addressing Challenging and Difficult Behaviour/Developing Young People
Adventurous experiences out-of-doors are perceived to kindle the enthusiasm of the young, to develop their concern for others, for their community and for the environment. Such experiences provide the means of self-discovery, self-expression and enjoyment which are at once both stimulating and fulfilling.
It thus emerges that, for young people and adults alike, Outdoor Adventure is perceived as a vehicle for building values and ideals, for developing creativity and enterprise, for enhancing a sense of citizenship, and for widening physical and spiritual horizons.

With many years' experience working with young people from all backgrounds, Zenith Leisure have successfully delivered activity packages designed to re-engage those who struggle with main stream education, and to develop the life skills of our most vulnerable learners. Our bespoke packages encourage team work, communication and life skills, whilst our ability to treat each learner as an individual allows us to build bridges and overcome barriers with our young people.

Curriculum Enrichment
Curriculum enrichment has developed massively throughout secondary education and we feel we can play a really important part in this area. We have a variety of half-day courses, each running 6 - 8 weeks. They range from climbing to mountain biking and can all be linked to accreditation or an in-house certification. The North East has some great countryside, which allows us to venture out of school without travelling for hours.
We have a variety of on-site activities to offer, including full event days to challenge or just for fun! We also have a mobile climbing wall, team building activities and on-site mountain biking skills course, as well as many other activities. Using Zenith Leisure's imagination, innovation skill and experience, there is a great deal that can be done on a school site; expanding young peoples' comfort zones and improving their physical ability and confidence.
A journey is a person in itself, no two are alike. We find after years of struggle that we do not take a trip, a trip takes us.

Cross Curriculum Learning
We are true advocates of taking learning outside of the classroom. With a whole range of exploration and discovery based activities, from canoeing, walking, coasteering and cycling, we can help to take your students right into the heart of their subject matter. We are currently developing geography and biology field visists and studies with our clients - but do not feel limited by this. If its outdoor, we can accommodate it.
Must we always teach our children with books? Let them look at the mountains and the stars up above. Let them look at the beauty of the waters and the trees and flowers on earth. They will then begin to think, and to think is the beginning of a real education.

Residential Experiences
